My area of focus is economics. I tend took look outside the box and always try to find out the real reason why things happen. I see myself in the future either being an entrepreneur or working at Wall Street. As to my final project I’m thinking about doing an economic article, applying economic theory to diverse subjects. My challenge for right now is to find a “good” question to investigate.
For right now i just need to find a topic that I’m interested.
How would legalized drugs affect the economy?
I think your question is a very good and interesting one . It would be cool if you could show the before and after of the economy under the affect of legalized drugs.
1. I watched an interview on Milton Friedman taking about legalizing drugs
2. I also watched an interview on William Burkley
3. Read an article on not legalizing drugs
4. Read interesting article on legalizing marijuana
5. Read a Freakonomics chapter called What Makes a Perfect Parent?
It talked about legalizing guns.
Overall, I think I will go more specific and change my question to “Should Marijuana be legalized?”
I like the specificity of the question, and it looks like the resources you’ve found are quite helpful for at least framing the topic with these two different points of fivew. I’m still wondering about the medium – are you still thinking about this as an essay? – and also (more significantly) about how your work will be original in this area. I know we’ve talked about this before, but I’m concerned that this has been studied extensively, and I’m not sure what your own contribution to this body of work would be. What do you think? I definitely think you’re moving in the right direction here; it may require a bit more research + additional thinking to figure out how your work on through this project can add to the conversation on this topic.
I think your topic is great but you have to do the whole topic more than on economic level you have to look at it from more of a moral level. There are many pro sides and many agianst sides for this argument.
