  1. I have an internship at P.S. 81 and I was thinking about running an after school baseball program there next year.

  2. J – is there someone at the school who could help you make this happen? Is there interest from the kids in having an after school baseball program? Are you familiar with a league that the kids could participate in?

I’m into the idea, but you need to think a bit more about what you’d like to accomplish with the program. Why do you want to start it? Is it based on your own experience? Do you think kids should have more physical activity in their lives, do you think playing sports builds self esteem, etc. The answer to “why” will help you frame your research.

  3. I think the idea is great and yeah I agree with Ms. Jenkins. Maybe you can work or talk to other guys who are thinking either about baseball or kids in general since your internship is in an elementary school.

  4. Ok I understand that it’s more than just showing up and teaching these kids how to play baseball. Im going to have to do a lot of research about how kids will react to playing baseball like if it has something to do with self esteem issues or something else. Also Im going to have to make a full plan about what I want to do with these kids because I will have to present a plan to most likely the principle of the school or someone else.
