Ryan’s Map

Here is my map:

For my senior year project I will try and create a robot of some sort to do a specific task. I am not quite sure what the task will be though. My handwriting is small so you might not be able to see m my map clearly.

  1. I was told that I need to find a task for my machine to complete and figure out the steps that are necessary to complete the machine. Other issues I may run into are budget and material need to build and program a robot. I will try and find a objective that the robotic must complete and blueprint it as soon as possible.

    • Aha! I found out what I want to make! Although it requires a lot of work and research, but dammit it will be done. For my senior year project I want to make the turret form Portal, a video game that I absolutely adore. Here’s some pictures:

Although I can’t exactly put ammunition in it… but, I plan on making it respond to movement and human dialog if possible. If I go into full detail I’ll get tired of typing, but If I happen to change my mind for something easier then I’ll update on it.

    • Over the spring break I researched on a company called “Adafruit” here in the the city and I plan on trying to get an internship there to learn engineering. I have read a book called “The Department of Mad Scientists: How D.A.R.P.A. is Remaking Our World, from the Internet to Artificial Limbs”, which goes over the current technologies being developed and the story behind how the technologies available today came to be. I also just gained some inspiration from playing Portal on my Xbox 360 and watching some old Mecha anime like “Robotech” and “Gundam 0080: War in the Pocket”.
